DAY 1SIBIU-RASINARI- PALTINIS-SIBIU
In the morning we’ll enjoy a coffee in the main square of Sibiu old town or “little Vienna” as it was known, followed by a visit to the outdoor Astra village museum known for its traditional style houses and wooden churches; the living traditional village of Rasinari awaits us for lunch, then fresh air and a walk reaching 1440m altitude, the highest resort in Romania, , Paltinis.
DAY 2SIBIU – TRANSFAGARASAN-BILEA LAKE – SIBIU
We’re reaching higher grounds in the second day, 2000m altitude by crossing Transfagarasan road, which was proclaimed by Top Gear show the “best road in the world” for its steep hairpin turns, long S-curves and sharp descends, an attraction and a challenge for anyone addicted to driving vehicles. Bilea lake is a glacier lake with access from Transfagarasan road, known as a starting point to various climbing tracks and routes in Fagaras mountains.
